Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizens for government information which can be used for various purposes like leading a campaign, check for corruption, gain information about government activities. 

This Act empowers citizens to question government, promotes transparency as everyone becomes aware about all functions and activities of various government bodies, and makes our democracy work for the citizens.
